PROHIBITED ITEMS AT ALL RM OF ARMSTRONG WASTE & DISPOSAL SITES
We urge residents to check-in with the custodians to ensure everything is dropped off in the appropriate areas. When dropping off anything in the burn or scrap cells please drop off as far back as possible.
***When dropping off used oil we will only accept containers up to and including 5 gallon pails - no sludge please*****
Please see the list below of prohibited items not accepted at Inwood & Chatfield Waste Stations & Meleb Waste Disposal Grounds.
-demolition/renovation materials, including shingles & treated wood
-automotive parts (windshields, bumpers etc.)
-anything containing asbestos
These items can be taken to Prairie Green Landfill. For items containing asbestos they can be taken to Green Lite in Winnipeg.

Refuse Permits
Please ensure your have your refuse permit to gain access to the waste disposal grounds and transfer stations. If you do not have your blue and white refuse permit, access will be denied. If you require a new permit, please obtain one from the Municipal Office. There will be a $10.00 charge for replacement of permits.
Waste and Recycling–General Information
The R.M. of Armstrong operates three waste disposal grounds:
- Chatfield Transfer Station
- Inwood Transfer Station
- Meleb Waste Disposal Grounds
Household waste, recyclables and used oil may be dropped off at either/any of the three disposal grounds. All construction waste must be dropped off at the Meleb Waste Disposal Grounds only.
- Summer Hours: March 1 to October 31
- Winter Hours: November 1 to February 28
Chatfield Transfer Station–SW 7-21-1W
Location: Travel North on Highway #17 and turn west on Road 419. Travel 1½ miles. The transfer station is located on the north side.
Chatfield Transfer Station Location
Hours: Wednesday & Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (year around)
Inwood Transfer Station–SE34-17-1W
Location: Travel west on Highway # 17, past Inwood, and turn south at Road 2 W. Travel for one mile. The transfer station is located on the west side.
March 1 to October 31 - Summer Hours:
Mondays & Wednesdays 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Saturdays 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
November 1 to February 28 - Winter Hours:
Mondays & Wednesdays 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Saturdays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Meleb Waste Disposal Grounds–NW 15-20-2E
Location: Travel north on Hwy #7 to Road 117 N (Meleb area). Travel west for ½ mile. Disposal grounds are located on the south side.
March 1 to October 31 - Summer Hours:
Tuesdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Thursdays 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturdays 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
November 1 to February 28 - Winter Hours:
Tuesdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Thursdays 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Saturdays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Electronics Recycling
Electronic Waste is Accepted at the Meleb Transfer Station.
